Senior Credit Controller

JR have a fantastic role for a Senior Credit Controller to join a Nottingham City Centre law firm. With brand new offices, the business will provide you with a great place to work with a commitment to health work-life balance and wellbeing.

Initially on a 12 month fixed term contract, they are looking for someone who can step in and guide the wider Credit Control team assisting the Credit Control Manager with escalated issues.

With excellent organisational and communication skills, you will have a strong background within Credit Control and demonstrated experience of achieving results with the upmost professionalism. Building relationships both internally and externally, you will also be confident allocating payments and updating the debtors report to be presented to senior management.

The business offer hybrid working with 3 days office and 2 days remote working.

Responsibilities

  • Support and guidance to the Credit Controllers.
  • Management of month end reports.
  • First point of escalation for the team queries.
  • Responsibility and ownership of the debtor ledger within offices in the UK, Sweden, and Denmark. Working on specified accounts and supporting the wider team during busy periods.
  • Suitably liaising with clients in an appropriate and professional manner to collect moneys owed on the debtor ledger.
  • Working with fee earners, taking appropriate measures when chasing overdue debt.
  • Adopt best practice to drive billing with good WIP management.
  • Investigating and allocating unknown receipts within a timely manner. Including processing and posting client refunds correctly and efficiently as appropriate.
  • Assigning and reviewing credit limits to new and existing clients.
  • Highlight or recommend process improvements or efficiencies.

Key skills

  • 3 years plus in a Senior Credit Control position.
  • Ability to demonstrate previous mentor/coaching experience.
  • Excellent experience of Microsoft packages including excel.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads.
  • Strong administrative and organisations skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Process driven, organised person who excels at meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work to targets, and KPI’s
