Management Accounts Assistant

Located in Nottingham city centre, our client, a well-established organisation operating within the retail sector, has an immediate vacancy within their friendly finance department for a management accounts assistant / administrator.

Reporting into their management accountant your duties as management accounts assistant / administrator will include:

  • Preparing and reconciling daily sales figures
  • Preparing and distributing weekly management reports
  • Reconciling supplier statements / reporting queries to their purchase ledger supervisor
  • Completing external information request forms
  • Setting up new supplier agreements
  • Proactive admin support to the team; maintaining accurate records and organising archives and supporting other areas within their accounts department as necessary.
  • Additionally, you will have shared responsibilities for the analysis of nominal ledger codes for management accounts purposes, setting up ad-hoc payments, collating export documentation to support the VAT return, banking (depositing monies, cashing cheques etc.) assisting internal external auditors, and also providing support / cover for post, vehicle hire and meeting room reservation to cover absences.

The successful management accounts assistant / administrator must possess strong Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables, and ideally sumifs, along with a good understanding of journals. It is envisaged that you will have 2 – 3 years previous accounts experience, great communication and organisational skills and enjoy undertaking a variety of accounts and admin duties, to include collating and entering data and producing daily sales figures.
